However, it is relatively safe to set up a page at MySpace that links back to your site(s) with solid introductory information.  Even better, and this will take some time and energy, is to create a video to upload to iFilm and YouTube that offers either information or entertainment that can draw people to your site.  Be sure, of course, to have your Web address emblazoned as a watermark somewhere on the video, probably in the top or bottom corner.

What then?

Now, if you can tie your video in logically to something going on in the news, this will help immensely, especially if it concerns some pop icon making a splash such as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Anna Nicole Smith or even Antonella Barba.  I have other sites where I can legitimately run social commentary on these hot-ticket celebs, and whenever I find a reason to do so, my traffic spikes nicely.

Even if you can’t get a quick video online incorporating hot breaking news about famous persons, you can put a blurb and a link on your home or blog page, and I guarantee you that it will be found (using Technorati tags helps a lot here too) and thus increase traffic for you.

This is simply called finding a parade and standing in front of it, even if you’re off to the side, so to speak.

It’s not gaming the system if you’re actually adding value to your site and to the Internet.  Just ask Google if you don’t believe me.
