My Space Enters Social Media News Fray
My Space, owned by News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch, is joining the social media ranking phenomenon/craze with the introduction of a news page where visitors can vote for their favorite articles.
I just went to My Space, but I couldn’t find the section that’s being promised. However, I’m not that familiar with My Space to begin with. I actually have a page there with absolutely nothing on it, and have for years, so I suppose I should go do something revolutionary and post a page written in real English. (For that, visit my other blog called Grammar Sucks.)
The interesting part is that on this news page, or section, My Space will also have sub-categories, where votes (I assume) are also going to be counted. Here is where I can see a million bloggers rushing to scam the system and get their articles to the top of the listings.
My question: How many times will articles about Angelina Jolie, Britney Spears and Brad Pitt be the top news vote-getters. Better question: Will the top story ever be anything except celebs like them?
