search site with some interesting twists. First, like Wikipedia, Mahalo is edited by humans. However, I searched the FAQs and couldn’t find how these people are chosen and what their qualifications are. A mystery. Second, this site has "standards" and is more medieval in its approach than even Google. To get a site listed (you can recommend your site for review), you need to absorb a huge lists of don’ts: don’t be less than a year old, don’t have too many ads, don’t have adult content, don’t use pop-ups. Don’t expect to get listed, in other words, if you’re out to make money. Third, and this part may be good, some sites on the results page come with warning symbols to indicate various evils: bad layout, fonts too small, too many ads (I guess if they haven’t already eliminated your site), presence of pop-ups (ditto), and whatever else they come up with.Halitosis perhaps. I’m not clear how this site is monetized, but it does run sponsored ads that may be obtained from another source. I noticed in my visit that the adult-content prohibition didn’t apply to sponsored ads. I’m not sure if this is an oversight or just plain greed.
