Best Source for Keyword Research

Keyword research is a necessary component of optimizing your Web/Blog pages as well as targeting your sponsored ads to niches that convert at a high rate but have little competition.

The two biggest names in the keyword research and tracking business are Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery.  Wordtracker’s database, culled from results of searches on DogPile and MetaTracker (which search search engines), goes back 90 days.  Keyword Discovery’s, reportedly taken from a larger number of search sites (280 or so, I believe), goes back one whole year.  This comes in handy if you’re doing seasonal marketing and want to know what the popular key phrases were last Thanksgiving.

I’ve used Wordtracker quite a bit,and find it pretty time-consuming.  You have to continually keep eliminating words and phrases that don’t pertain to your search before you can find get any targeted results.  Keyword Discovery is similarly time consuming.

I was able to cut the time element way down while still returning great keyword results, however, by subscribing to NicheBot, which gives you various weapons with which to search for keywords, including Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery.  In other words, by subscribing to NicheBot, you gain access to both of the major players in keyword research, and NichBot does you a favor by joining together several of the separate processes on Keytracker and Keyword Discover.  Thus it offers two power searches, called Wordtracker 4-in-1 and Keyword Discovery 9-in-1.  By using either or both of these functions, you can quickly assemble a list of keywords and key phrases that will be stored on NicheBot’s database for your instant retrieval wherever you are and whenever you need them.

In short, I highly recommend NicheBot, which I use for my own personal keyword research.
