Google Docs and Spreadsheets Snafu
Controversy has arisen in Australia over terms of service for Google Docs and Spreadsheets, free word-processing and spreadsheet software available on Google.
One clause (which is too large to reproduce but can be read by clicking on the link) seems to imply that anything created on Google Docs becomes the search company’s property to use for its own purposes.
Google Australia has denied this, but to say very least, the situation–and the definition of public upon which the controversy hinges–is unsettled.
