Fine Tune Those Meta Tags

Some people spell it "meta tag" and others "metatag."  I’m usually among the latter, but for my title I thought the two-word version looked better.

Anyway, the past couple of days I’ve been fooling around with these online meta tag analyzers.  I found one today that works really well at Widexl.com.

WordPress blogs like this one have some meta tag functions built in (I’m sticking with the two-worder today), but usually just for the title and character set.  Therefore, some important metas are left out unless you add them in by hand, including the description and keyword meta tag data, to say nothing of the language, robots, author and numerous tags that I used to ignore.  However, since these analyzers all busted me for not including these "lesser" tags, I’ve added them in today.

I found one online resource that will help you compose the meta tag data in proper coding format, but be careful, it tends to screw up the Revisit-After entry by moving "Days" (after the number of days you specify) into a wrong tag.  You’ll need to cut and paste this back to the Revisit entry.  Otherwise, it’s a nifty little tool, if a bit slow.
