After Google purchased the Brazilian social networking site Orkut, an endless confrontation with critics and authorities has swirled on the social networking site and its U.S. owner.
Latest round has local Brazilian authorities’ threatening to fine Orkut $100,000 a day and even shutter operations if it doesn’t clean the child pornography and animal cruelty entries from its site.
So far, both Google and Orkut seem unwilling to cooperate, and Barry Schwartz does a terrific job in recapping the whole sordid affair.
