This falls into the category of a) I got my facts wrong and b) well, at least someone reads my blog.
Anyway, it turns out that the SSS service (see posting just below this one) is much more generous than I portrayed it, but I think the explanation I’m reprinting here from StomperNet’s Andy Jenkins overlooks the fact that down the road the goal is to get you to join StomperNet for a monthly fee. Nothing wrong with that, and I’d love to have such a site myself. I’m sure what they offer is well worth it, as the video I watched was very information, though I didn’t agree with all of it.
Wow - that’s harsh. We restricted users to a single URL for the first 24 hours to give the onslaught a chance to get access to the tool.
At 5pm today, we do our first relaxation of the restriction to allow 5 per day.
By the end of next week, it will be 50 per day.
And that’s ALL on the web site.
So, I think calling it $$$ is not only inaccurate, it’s irresponsible. And Buyer-Beware? They don’t have to buy anything.
Maybe you could say "User - Take Note: During the first 24 hours of release, the authors are restricting the tool use so that all comers can get at least one reports out of it. According to a statement from their CEO, they plan on lifting those restrictions once the initial surge of demand dies down."
Because that would be the truth.
Regards,
Andy Jenkins
